Yesterday is the reason I gamble. I started out with two horrible loser in the Phillies over and the Padres money line. I needed a winner and came thru with the Phoenix Mercury destroying San Antonio. Finished yesterday with a 1-2 record. Tonight I have one total for all my readers.
Houston Astros @ New York Mets
Nelson Figueroa (3-1, 2.98 era) takes the hill for the Astros and he will be countered by New York Met Mike Pelfrey (12-7, 3.80 era).
Houston is coming off a surprising four game sweep of the Phillies in Philadelphia. Figueroa's August 17 no decision against the Mets was 4-3 win for the Astros as he gave up two runs in five innings pitched. Houston was the benefactor of a lack of run scoring by the Phillies in Philadelphia. They did just enough to win. Pelfrey has a 1.64 era in his last three starts.
These two teams have played four games against each other this season and have failed to reach a total of eight runs in any game. My bet will be UNDER 7.5(-125) runs.
